Port Authority of New York & New Jersey awarded SAFETY Act Certification for its World Trade Center Secure Design Program

March 24, 2025: World Trade Center Receives SAFETY Act Certification

Aluma is proud to have represented our client, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, in securing the renewal of its SAFETY Act Designation and Certification from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. This award recognizes the Port Authority’s Security Assessment, Design, Architectural, and Engineering Services for the World Trade Center Campus—an effort Aluma was honored to support.

The World Trade Center remains the first commercial high-rise development to receive SAFETY Act protections for secure design. The renewed Designation and Certification extend coverage to the risk assessments, architectural elements, and engineering strategies that integrate security directly into the built environment at this landmark site in New York City.

This achievement reflects both the Port Authority’s continued leadership in infrastructure security and Aluma’s commitment to helping clients pursue and maintain SAFETY Act protections for complex, high-profile environments.
